Some call it Tex-Mex, I call it (insert Texas accent here) American style... you know kind of like PF Changs is to "authentic" Chinese cuisine?
Though the wait was 45 minutes for 5 on a Friday night, call ahead seating was available, and local brews at the bar greeted you at the door. My first experience at Paco's Tacos and Tequila was a great one. This South Charlotte eatery is slightly tucked away on Morrison Blvd. The ambiance was fun, with hanging colorful lights towards the ceiling. The service was fantastic & the tacos are worth the wait.
We were greeted with complementary chips & salsa (made in house), suggested some delicious queso (in white or yellow), and shown an extensive beverage menu with a great variety of margaritas.
One convenient thing about this place is you can mix and match your type of tacos (2 or 3 at dinner). I highly recommend including "Paco's Taco" in your mix. This 6-hour chili roasted beef brisket, is a little spicy and will melt in your mouth! If you're a bbq lover, you'll most definitely enjoy this Paco Taco.
If you're a Charlotte Restaurant Week participator- keep this reasonably priced venue in mind.
